Often referred to as a ‘superfood’, chicken livers contain all the amino acids that the body needs to generate protein and are rich in vitamin C, which is a rarity in meats. Brimming with vitamin A, chicken livers are great for maintaining the health of your eyes. The iron content fills the body with energy and vitamins like B12, thus making chicken livers a great option for people suffering from anaemia.

Q How do I know if it safe to consume a product if no code or Best Before Date is present on the pouch?

A All Figado products are legibly and permanent coded. This activity is highly regulated and a legal requirement. The removal of a code or BB date is a fraudulent activity. Should you be in possession of a Figado product that depicts no code or BB date, kindly report this immediately through the contact details found on our product packaging.

Q Do Figado products contain any GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms)?

A None of Figado’s products contain GMO’s, additives, preservatives, flavor enhances or fillers.

Q Can Figado products be consumed beyond their Best Before Date (BB Date)?

A It is highly recommended to NOT consume our products beyond their BB date. The BB date will ensure that the product integrity and food safety assurance is upheld.

Q Are Figado chicken livers free-range and/or organic?

A Unfortunately, due to our high volumes, we are unable to source the amount of free-range and organic chicken livers needed to sufficiently service our customers. We do however only support suppliers who practice sustainable farming practices.

Q Are chicken livers high in cholesterol?

A In the past decades, there have been concerns that chicken livers are laden with dietary cholesterol, thus making them bad for heart health. However, recent studies have shown that the combination of saturated and trans fats are to blame for the increasing bad cholesterol levels in the body and not the cholesterol present in the protein source. Figado™ chicken livers are prepared with no added fats and with very little salt, which is the healthiest way to consume them.
